An eidolon is defined as "a spirit image", pretty much the same thing as a ghost, or phantom, a way that human spirits are presented to us. I'm not about the paranormal, or supernatural, or anything of the sort, however, I think the metaphor (although slightly edgy) works decently well with the concept of a personal website, since this page is how *I* am presented to *you*, the reader.
In reading this, you see the way I want to be presented, however hard this may be in the real world. Plus, I just think the word sounds cool.
